Hey Nerds!
So I didn't spend enough time advertising this because the time I spent organizing it kinda dominated my whole life for a lil' while there.
But the time has come and now I can tell you all about it!
So Free Comic Book day is this weekend, as I'm sure you all know. I've been hard at work creating my first EVER free comic book day promotion! Now, at paarticipating locations (in the bay area only, sorry) you can pick up your FREE TransCat comic! It's a special issue I've compiled full of the shorts and side stories that I either released on the website, or were part of compilations between 2014 and 2015. It's the first time (and maybe only time) most of these comics will ever appear in print, so get 'em while they're HOT!
Below is a list of all the stores that are carrying me:

Don't worry tho, if you're nowhere near any of these stores and you still want your book, there is a LIMITED SUPPLY available to you, my dear long distance reader.
Sign up for the TransCat Mailing List! Shoot me an EMAIL, telling me you wanna sign up for the list, and gimme an address I can ship the book to. You'll also be getting a ton of other cool, free stuff throughout the year, like holiday cards, and other exclusive TransCat merch.
So lemme tell you the fun story of getting all these books to their respective places.
So I took my friend D on a ROAD TRIP around the whole bay area. she's not "new" to the area so much anymore, but she still hasn't seen a lot of the Bay yet, so she was the perfect candidate for a helper for this journey. We started in the south bay, heading to a few stops in Sunnyvale first, then to Santa Clara, Cupertino and eventually Los Gatos.
One of the shops i stopped at in San Jose kinda weird changed their minds on me last minute when I arrived. It was weird because the owner of the shop is a guy i know, and have known for well over a decade. He used to have a shop closer to my home when i was little and i'd go in there almost every day. He moved to San Jose in the mid 2000's, and he'd always recognize me when I'd make my way up there.
I called him up when I first started this campaign, and asked him if he wanted to participate in it, and he SAID yes, and when I sent him the sample .PDF of what I'd made, he even ordered 25 copies, but when i was there in person, not only did he act like he didn't know who I was, but he changed his mind about the book. He said it "wasn't really the kind of thing his shop carried". So weird coming from someone I've known since i was little. Oh well, I guess?
After that, we shot all the way up to Pacifica, and then bounced around San Francisco for awhile.
THIS is where having a partner really came in handy.
See, I was worried this whole time that D would just be bored as fuck, sitting in my car this whole time as we drove from point A, to B, to C, etc, but having a second person, who was willing to take the wheel while I really quickly jumped out of the car, delivered some books and hopped back in, so we didn't need to find a place to PARK in the fucking city was one of the biggest boons I could have asked for.
Even with this massive help, we took longer in SF than we should have, and before we knew it, stores started closing down for the day, so we wound up missing about 4 stores. Thankfully the last one we went to let us in, despite the fact it was already a few minutes passed closing time. They were some nice dudes too, one of them i'm pretty sure was an aspiring comic artist himself who really praised my idea to give out free promos of my book on Free Comic Book Day. He thought it was a really smart and creative way to create awareness for my BRAND in my target audience. I thought so too ^^ I'm happy to have it conformed by another source.
So that was Day One. We drove in a huge loop around the bay, and we were jamming to Green Day the whole time. Truly the full Bay Area experience.
We stopped in Fremont after our last shop and wound up getting some sushi.
we were about to stop into this one place, but we took one step in and realized this was NOT the sushi place for us.
The sushi they were selling was pre-packaged in little plastic boxes in a cooler, like in a grocery store. If i wanted THAT, I'd literally just go to a grocery store >:(
We took another stab at finding a good place and wound up at a restaurant called Aniki's Sushi.
HOLY
SHIT
This is the BEST possible choice we could have made!
I've been to some GOOD sushi places before in my life but THAT was something really, really special here. On the outside it looked like a one of those kinda typical super trendy sushi bars with the loud j-pop and k-pop soundtrack, the decor and the list of special rolls a mile long with all the trendy ingredients like jalapenos, deep friend scallops, etc.
I tried one of those rolls and yeah, they were good, but where this place REALLY shined was in thier traditional sashimi.
I have NEVER in my life had a fresher, more flavorful cut of fish. We wound up sharing the Sashimi deluze platter, it was something like 24 different cuts of fish, including salmon, tuna, halibut, red snapper and others.
the cuts were almost as big as a human tongue, they totally filled your mouth. They were so tender and delicious and must melted beautifully. They almost didn't need any seasoning at all, but a short dip in soy sauce is always nice.
It was so good that even after I was full, I wanted more. I could have seriously eaten myself to death in that place. It was that amazing. Definitely worth a trip back to Fremont to visit again.
I hit the road again Monday afternoon once I was done with work and knocked out the last few shops I missed before they closed. I didn't have a partner this time, so getting around in SF was significantly harder, but I still managed. One of the places was actually closed on Mondays (why?) but thankfully there was still a dude there who was available to take my books. Thank effing god. I didn't wanna try to make that drive AGAIN on Tuesday. I should really pan this shit out better :P
NEXT YEAR I WILL!
