Happy Thanksgiving to everyone :)
I hope it's been treating you all well.
This month has been kicking my ass, the San Francisco commute has been absolute moider! It's actually not that bad getting there, but coming home at rush hour kills my soul. Thankfully, to alleviate some of the stress, I've been staying at a friend's house in Redwood City. Thanks a lot to Josh, Lindsay and John for opening their door to me. Sadly, this is sorta the reason I've not been updating regularly. I don't have all my supplies while I'm there, just my sketchpad, pencils and pens. The scanner needs to stay at home.
Thankfully, I got a chance to come home for Thanksgiving, and now yer getting this! :D
I got to have dinner with my family. It was nice, even if it was a little bit awkward. But still nice. Afterward, me and my mom went to go see the film adaptation of "Life of Pi". I can't even tell you how refreshing it was to see a mainstream film like that with almost no white main characters.
I also have another piece of awesome artwork that I'd really like to show you, but I can't Not until later. Log onto the facebook a little later tonight, or possibly tomorrow afternoon to check it out. I'd just upload it now if I could, but it's a present for a friend, and I don't wanna show the internet before I show her. That just seems inappropriate. So you guys have to WAIT!
So here I am, just enjoying my long Thanksgiving weekend. Last night I was drawing while listening to ghost stories. I have not officially let go of Halloween yet. Halloween is like my Christmas. I start celebrating it long before it's come and keep celebrating long after it's gone.
It occurs to me that this is gonna be the first Christmas in over 9 years that I haven't been working in a record shop. I wonder if this will have an effect on how fast I get tired of Christmas carols. How come there are no Halloween carols? I mean, we have "This is Halloween" and "Monster Mash", do those count as carols? What differentiates between a carol and a regular old song? According to Wikiepdia, a carol is just a festive song, generally religious, but not necessarily connected to church worship. I think it's time we start penning some Halloween carols! Festive religions songs about reverence for the dead, or something. Or does goth music pretty much have that covered? :P
