The Ballad of 'Ol Shootin' Jed: Page 21

A glorious change of pace! More guns, and multiple jointed arms! I am not certain what it is about them but an arm with more than one elbow joint just says "terror" to me. I've used this in three stories now, but this is the first one you guys have seen yet :)

So, I saw Batman finally O_O
I say "finally" even though it's only been out for a day. Seriously, there was no way this movie could have come out fast enough. I was sitting in the theater, staring at the blank screen waiting for the movie to actually begin, and I was just about shouting at the darkness that it wasn't happening fast enough.
But it eventually did happen, and it was good. I'd just like to say, here and now, for posterity, that I was right about everything that I thought was gonna happen in the movie. It did not happen the exact WAY I was imagining, but the end result was similar.

Sadly, the auspicious occasion was marred with the violence that erupted in Aurora CO. Not exactly my hometown, but close by. It's especially sad to me that what could have simply been the anniversary of the debut of a great comic book movie has now also become the anniversary of a lot of people's deaths, and now the survivors and the family of those who fell are gonna have THIS in the forefront of their minds whenever something reminds them of Batman. That's really sad, sad that it has to happen this way. My heart goes out to everyone who was affected by this tragic turn of events. By everyone, I do mean everyone. Even the killer, Knave? Yeah, even him. He a human being, just like us. Sadly, one who was dangerously unhinged, lost his grip on reality and turned violent, but still a person. It could have happened to any of us.
The sadder part of his story is that he didn't have any friends or anyone in his life who thought enough to recognize his extremely detached behavior for what it was, and didn't act in any way to prevent his lashing out. People are so quick to blame the killer, granted it was his fingers pulling the trigger, but there's many, MANY steps in between detached dude, and murderer. This guy took them all, unimpeded by anyone in his life, friends or loved ones, and THAT'S the actual tragedy.

It really cements in your mind the importance of things like friendship and love.
If this guy had had friends who really cared, maybe he wouldn't have gone so off the deep end, and even if eh did anyone, they would have been there to wrestle him to the ground before he could grab his guns.

So yeah, aside from all that, you should go see that movie. It's really good. don;t let a tragic, isolated incident scare you away from a movie theater to go see what could possibly be the best comic book movie yet! (aside from Ghost World).
