The Ballad of 'Ol Shootin' Jed: Page 9

Oh my god, babies are gross. I am not often presented with the opportunity to draw infants, so I had to look up some reference photos. Babies aren't just like little adults... they have weird, lumpy bodies! They have lumps where people should not have lumps! what's with that? What's even worse is looking of photos of newborn children, the ones with all the afterbirth goop still all over 'em! GEE-ROWS-UH! Although, I'm told the best part of the afterbirth is the cold afterbirth sandwiches you get to have the next morning.

Ahh.. if there's a bad afterbirth joke out there, I haven't heard it!

So this weeks the week i bombard you guys with a bunch of links.

I know that if you're reading this blog, you probably already have a copy of Dave the Punk Rock Cat #1. But just in case you don't, and even if you do, Dave will be making an appearance in SeqaPunch Quarterly's first indie comics anthology. Read/Watch all about it here.

The release date is as of yet uncertain, but is aimed at mid to late April. There will be details on how to obtain your very own copy at the sites provided.
I think this kind of publication is a brilliant idea that should be supported. and in supporting it, you support me and all the other talented artists who took part in its creation, so there, booyah.

Another thing that involves me and my comic is this guy! James Ortega, and his cyber comic shop, "Solo Comics".

He is, what you'd call, a "mover and a pusher" of Dave the Punk Rock Cat and many other creator driven rags. This is another wonderful case of "help support him, and you help support me and many many others who totes deserve it."
He is also breaking ground very soon on his own brick and mortar shop in Lower Lake, California, which is ironically up in Northern California. BUT! If you live up that way, his will be the place to go to get these hard to find books. More info on this as it develops.

On the more serious side of comics related news, here's an article about sexism among the comic fandom written by my buddy Roxanna Meta. You've heard me harp on similar topics in the past, but Roxy is a far better writer than me, and is much closer to the topic than I, being a lady herself. She very eloquently puts these thoughts into words in a much more close-to-home kinda way.
I insist, practically demand you read this article.

I'll end on a totally frivolous note:
Remember that "Swift Justice" picture I posted last week? Well I posted it on VSauce Gaming's facebook page earlier tonight.
Go add a "Like" to it, if you get a chance. I don't know what it'll accomplish, but it will make me go like this ^~^.

So yeah, if you're interested in helping me out, helping my friends out, and boosting my self-esteem, click on all these links and start doing some stuff. There's plenty in it for you, and it will make the world a better place! Don't ever tell me I never gave ya nothin'!
